Reporting to the Director of program and portfolio mgmt our client is looking for an exceptional global programme manager with life science manufacturing experience. The global programme manager will be accountable for overseeing the execution a collective group of projects within one or more programmes and/or portfolios. The programme deliverables will be significantly large in size, complex in nature and encompass sizeable investments ($1M-$100M).  This is a 6 month day rate contract initially. 
Responsibilities
  • Map out programme roadmap, critical path, key dependencies and major risks to successful programme delivery – for all assigned programmes.
  • Track programme budget of $50M+, ensuring cost is managed in line with company policies, and employing prudent cost control measures to ensure the programme is delivered within budget.
  • Report to GMS PMO, Programme Sponsor, VPs, programme boards and steering committees and other business stakeholders (as appropriate) on programme progress and overall status.
  • Lead and motivate project managers (in a matrix environment) to successfully deliver strategic outcomes on time and within agreed budgets.
  • Play a key part in transforming project and programme management across GMS to introduce state of the art programme management techniques.
  • Work with the wider PMO team and project experts within GMS to develop step by step guides and playbooks for different project types, taking steps to ensure that the guidance is in line with business needs – and drives simplification/execution success
Skills and Experience
  • Certified Project Management qualification from recognised project management body such as PMI, APM or equivalent is essential.
  • Minimum of 8 years project and programme management experience with a proven track record in the delivery of business change in a life science manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in managing and tracking programmes with budgets of €5M + is essential.
  • Experience at a senior level in a mature organisation is essential. Big 4 / Pharma background preferable.
  • Proven track record in successful programme delivery on time and to budget within a diverse global organisation. Must have experience working as a programme manager through the full lifecycle.
  • Experience of management of major suppliers/third parties.
