Equities Trader

A boutique Equities focussed Hedge Fund, based in the West End is looking to hire a Trader to join their successful team. 

You’ll play a crucial role supporting the Portfolio Managers and gain further exposure to L/S and Event Driven / Special Situations investing. 

This role is not just an execution role.  You will add significant value to the PMs, will be their eyes and ears in the market and be encouraged to explore your ideas in strategy / technology. 

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Work closely with PMs through execution advisory, analysis and research 

• Produce bespoke analysis for PMs and Senior Management 

• Trade execution and order management (equities, spreads, futures) 

• Develop execution plans and conduct quarterly trade performance reviews 

• Primary point of contact for technical issues – OMS, trading / PnL data systems 

• Build sell side relationships and highlight value add ideas and research to PMs 

Skills and Qualifications: 

• 3-5 years trading experience, ideally in cash equities, derivatives, Delta 1 etc 

• Strong Excel (essential) and experience in Python, SQL etc (desirable) 

• Experience in either top sell-side or buy side firm 

• Exposure to European or US markets ideal but not essential
