Gavin Martin

Gavin joined Fortis in late 2025 when we acquired Kenmar Recruitment Partners, the specialist financial services recruitment business he co-founded and successfully built over the previous five years.

Unlike most recruiters, Gavin actually spent a sizeable chunk of his career doing the jobs he now recruits for. He started out as a fund accountant and spent 12 years working within the funds industry before eventually deciding he’d rather recruit fund accountants than be one. It means his knowledge of Funds & Investment Management comes from having worked in the market, built a career in it and recruited across it for years since. 

Life outside Fortis is fairly busy too. Gavin has a growing family keeping him occupied and, just in case that wasn’t enough commitment, he’s also about to get married.

We’re told married life is all about compromise, communication and occasionally accepting that being right and winning the argument are two completely different things.

After 20-odd years navigating financial services, he’s about to take on his most complex stakeholder relationship yet.
